Who Are We?
We are a nonprofit organization, dedicated to partnering with parents and children in single-parent households in the CSRA and Upstate SC, to provide financial assistance, educational opportunities, and mentorship.
Headwaters Foundation was founded on traditional, Christian values and is committed to adhering to these values while working within the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and Upstate South Carolina communities to not only provide assistance and resources to single-parent households, but also to serve as a role model to the next generation of young men and women.

What We Believe
We believe the presence of both parents is crucial to the family and child development. Studies have shown that the percentage of young men and women from single-parent households that are faced with issues involving mental health, academics, and relationships, is much higher compared to children raised in a two-parent household.
It is the responsibility of friends, other family members, the community, local businesses, churches, and other religious institutions, to step up in these situations and help out single-parent households. This support should not only be relegated to financial assistance, although this is highly desirable and appreciated by every single parent that struggles to provide for their family. It is critical that this support also involves active participation in the lives of the young men and women that are being raised without one, or both parents. These men and women need mentorship by people that will model leadership, servitude, and importance of the family.
Here at Headwaters, we strongly believe we are responsible for taking the lead.
